Tropical Depression Nineteen forms into Tropical Storm Sally, NHC says

MIAMI – Tropical Depression Nineteen has become Tropical Storm Sally, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

According to the NHC, Sally is expected to become a hurricane early next week before landfall along the northern Gulf Coast.

According to the 2 p.m. Saturday update, Nineteen is about 35 miles south-southeast from Naples and is packing 40 mph winds. Nineteen is also moving west at 7 mph.

Tropical storm watches have been issued for parts of Florida.

Here in the Tampa Bay area, most of the viewing area is under a Flood Watch this weekend.
