Stormy Labor Day for Afternoon, Evening

TAMPA, Fla. —  Deeper moisture moves in overhead, so storms will become more numerous in the next couple days.

An east wind continues, so Sunday will start out dry and partly cloudy. It will heat up quickly, so get out early for any outdoor activities. 

There will be scattered thunderstorms that develop in the afternoon to evening and will move into the Gulf late. High temperatures will be in the low to mid-90s, so heat indices will be around 105 again.

Labor Day will be very similar, but storms will likely be more numerous. The morning will be best to walk the dog. 

Showers and storms will move in during the afternoon and evening. Any storms left near the coast in the evening will move out into the Gulf.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, showers and storms will be fairly numerous in the afternoon and evening.

Boating Forecast

The wind will be from the east most of the day but will switch to a north sea breeze later. 

Seas will be between around two feet with a light chop. Winds will be at seven to 14 knots.

Most of the day will feature quiet boating conditions, but watch out for some thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. 

Beach Forecast

If you’re looking for sun at the beach, your best bet is to go in the morning. By the afternoon, clouds will increase, and eventually showers and thunderstorms will be developing. 

A sea breeze will develop each afternoon that will help to initiate storms later in the day. Keep an eye on Klystron 9.
