PETERSBURG, Fla. — ABC Action News wants to help local animal shelters find forever homes for loving cats and dogs.If you can’t afford to drive a Bentley, at least you can walk one.Bentley is a one-year-old, 64 lb. Pit Bull Terrier mix. He comes from Pet Pal Animal Shelter.He is lively, sweet boy with a heart of gold. Shelter workers say he walks well on a leash and is hoping for an active owner that will keep him busy.According to the American Kennel Club, terriers are intelligent, good-natured dogs who are excellent guardians.With the help of their “Guardian Angels,” all adopters of Pit Bulls from Pet Pal will go home with a crate, leash, collar, Kong toy and small bag of Science Diet. Also included is a free initial vet visit to Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic where a 1-month supply of heartworm and flea prevention will be provided.A group training class will also be offered by a certified trainer to provide guidance in leadership skills for all family members.Thanks to Bentley’s Pit Project Guardian Angel, Melissa Keefe, his adoption fee is only $75.Because of Bentley’s size and energy level, he will do best in a home without small children.
