Parents request to switch student learning, Hillsborough Superintendent says it isn’t that easy

TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough County Schools are dealing with a lot of requests from families to have their students change from eLearning to brick and mortar, and vice-versa. But it may not be that easy to make a switch right now.In a newsletter to families, Superintendent Addison Davis said administrators understand that your family’s situation may have changed or your student may not be excelling in the eLearning format. Davis said that schools are doing their best to accommodate these requests, but to remember the district asked families to declare their intent for a full semester. This is important because schools adjusted their staffing to meet those needs, according to the district. In some cases, it may not be possible to readjust these schedules immediately, Davis said.”Again, our schools are doing the best they can to help accommodate these new requests,” Davis wrote in the newsletter post. “Please allow them the flexibility and time to make the necessary adjustments.”
