Not As Many Storms Wednesday

TAMPA, Fla. — A more typical pattern returns to the Bay Area where showers and storms will be focused along the coast primarily during the afternoon and evening.

What You Need To Know

  • Not as many storms on Wednesday
  • High pressure shifts northward

A slow transition to our typical summertime pattern is underway as high pressure shifts northward. This means we will see showers and storms mainly during the afternoon along our coasts.

The upper level disturbance that enhanced the coverage of showers and storms is lifting away and our rain chances will be lower going into Wednesday.

Expect a mix of sun and clouds on Wednesday with a few thunderstorms developing. These storms will be slow moving but can produce very heavy rain that could lead to ponding of water in poor drainage areas.

Winds increase out of the east and southeast on Thursday. This is going to result in storms along the sea breeze during the afternoon.

Drier air sneaks in during the weekend and this will limit the coverage of showers and storms by Saturday. This will make it much easier to plan anything outside as we expect a lot of dry time.

As usual this time of year, don’t expect a wide variety in our temperatures over the week. Highs will be in the low 90s and overnight lows in the upper 70s to 80 degrees.

Boating Forecast

An east wind becomes westerly during the afternoon on Wednesday, increasing to 10 knots.

Seas will be around 2 feet with a light chop.

Thunderstorms will develop through the day, especially during the afternoon.
